If you type into the Google search engine ‘How to wear a scarf’ you will be presented with over 46 million links! It is the most asked, online fashion question and it offers a plethora of answers, each site showing unique ways of making the most out of your scarf as an essential fashion item.
Of course it’s all well and good watching experts casually flip and fold the fabric to create something rather magnificent, but in the real world we tend to grab a scarf as we leave the door and finding a way to make it look stylish that is quick and effortless takes some doing.
We suggest you look up some of the sites that appear and see just how many different ways there are of wearing this clothing essential. Since we launched our online shopping site we have seen huge interest in the selection of scarves we carry. The wide range, in various fabrics, colours and patterns, not only make fabulous gifts but they also offer an inexpensive way of accessorising outfits.
With famous brands, Powder, Shalls, Katie Loxton and Jo Edwards amongst the collections, we have a scarf for every possible occasion.
To get the very best out of wearing your scarf, we asked Gail for some tips on how to use them:
1: Try holding one end of a scarf close to your neck whilst wrapping the rest round until left with enough to tuck into the rolled fabric. A great way of wrapping up close and warm around the top of a jacket or blouse.
2: Alternatively, try wearing it like an oversized tie, this works great with finer fabrics and can keep you cosy whilst still floating free in the breeze.
3: The classic way to wear a scarf; hold it in the middle in one hand, wrap around the neck and pull the ends through the loop that has been created, then pull to the desired length.
Of course there are many different ways to wear a scarf, and ultimately it depends on how you like to personalise this wonderful fashion garment.
