Something new for OceanJ: here’s our first GUEST BLOGGER RACHEL BOOTH
OCEAN J: My story
I first came across Ocean Jewellery (when it was located in Lady Lawson Street) in 2005 when I was given a birthday gift of an orange set of earrings, necklace and ring designed by Watch This Space. I then sought out the shop for myself and it quickly became one of my go-to’s for treats for myself or gifts for friends. I also got to know Gail and Helena in the shop, too.
I also love the Paperthinks recycled handbags with their bright primary colours.
I also like the way Gail constantly updates and refreshes her collections, there is always something new to discover, unlike some other online sites that always seem to have the same stock every time you check them out.
It was exciting when Ocean Jewellery moved to larger premises in 2009 which was even more central in Edinburgh. I hosted several evening parties in the store for friends, which were a huge success and really proved that there was a variety of product to match most people’s tastes. Gail & Helena always offered a friendly and personal service to their customers, taking time to remember people’s style and interests.
Since I moved to England in 2015, OceanJ has become my favourite online website. My geographical move hasn’t affected my passion for ‘all things Ocean’. Gail offers a free delivery service (including gift wrapping) to make life easier and the website is very easy to navigate and regularly updated with new additions. I still enjoy sourcing accessories that aren’t on the high street and are that little bit different. At the moment I particularly love the Cashmere Rebel Pashminas embellished with Swarovski crystals; Katie Loxton Perfect Pouches; Busy Bee stationery and Tutti & Co jewellery range. The Aurora range of soft toys and Affenzahn back packs for children are simply adorable, too.
It is great that Gail offers a personal shopping service on her website, which isn’t far removed from the in-store experience.
My mantra is ‘you can never have too many accessories’ and OceanJ helps me keep that belief alive! www.oceanj.co.uk – my go-to website!
From Gail: “Many thanks Rachel, it’s great to have such fabulous endorsements of our collections and of our website, and thank you for being our first guest blogger”.
